ST MARY THE VIRGIN SILCHESTER
This is Grade 1 listed church on the site of a Roman town. It is also a scheduled ancient monument. This building is in good repair, but it had no lavatory or kitchen. The nearest facilites were in a farmhouse 300 metres away. Our solution was to carefully take down the existing victorian south porch and rebuild a slightly enlarged version using the same architectural vocabulary and recycling many of the original materials, including the doors and windows and stonework.
